Amazing Surprise
All summer and fall I am asked what do you do in the winter? I respond that I am the executive director of the Maine Professional Guides Association and go on. What that really means is that I do all sorts of things on behalf of the guides in Maine. A pretty humbling gig to say the least.

The forecast last night called for perhaps a couple of slushy inches. After the winter we have been through not welcome but nothing we can’t handle. The surprise came this morning about six inches of nice new snow. Even the plastic flamingos in the flower bed look discouraged!
This has been a busy winter; guides association duties have filled more of my days (and evenings) than I would like. Argy has been just as busy but we scheduled a few days together after a conference she was attending in New Orleans. I planned a day of fishing with Captain Lucas Bissett of
