We all knew it would have to happen (it has been several years since I raised rates) and here we are. Rates for Maine Outdoors trips will increase on January 1.
The new rates will be $475 for a half day trip and $900 for a full day trip. I won’t bore you with the details but like at your house everything Maine Outdoors purchases cost more these days. The increases are in line with the rate of inflation since the last increase so actually just holding our own.
The final straw was that each fishing license will cost $7 more in 2026. Not denying the need for that since those prices have not risen in 15 years. We are still committed to providing licenses on our trips because the funds collected are a primary source of funding for biology and law enforcement on our waters.
Also making it easy for you. Simply show up and go, no licenses to buy, no need to travel with fishing equipment, you only need a jacket and a smile! Trips are still for you and your party only on fresh and saltwater.
To ease the pain of the increase gift certificates for trips and trips paid for before January 1 will be at current prices. Not an easy step but one that must be made for every small business I am afraid.
