After an incredibly wet and cold early May the last week of the month is feeling very much like summer. Yes there is still some rain in the forecast but temperatures are warmer and those jackets I put on in the morning wind up left in the truck at the end of the day and not worn all of the way home. This warmth has caused the black flies to arrive a little later and hungrier, actually good news because they are usually gone by Fathers day so a shortened season for them. I find that it is pretty simple to keep them at bay while on the water as even the slightest breeze sends them into the trees.
This is the season when the outdoors in Maine comes into bloom and things are happening in a hurry seemingly all at once. Tulips, apple trees and soon the lupines like in the picture. A great time to get out there!
Our son Noah runs Equinox Guiding Service and has opened an office in downtown Camden. They are celebrating with an open house on June 7th (details here) Argy and I are planning to attend and I hope to see a few of you there.
From now until October this season looks to be as busy as normal. I hope to see each of you again this summer. You can make a reservation for a trip at this link.
As always come write or call if i can help you create outdoor memories.
Best regards,
