Tuesday I had the opportunity to present to a class on ecotourism at the College of the Atlantic in Bar Harbor. I was asked to talk about the realities of running a small business that is focused on outdoor recreation.
Of course talking about what I do every day, the pitfalls I have fallen in and the rewards that I receive was easy enough. I found the students to be very engaged and that they asked pretty insightful questions. I was surprised at how well versed some of them were in the basics of running a business and some of the flaws in my business plan. I enjoyed talking about those issues and how I am able to deal with them.
All in all a very enjoyable Tuesday afternoon.
