Winter is one of the best times of year to explore the natural world and a beautiful time of year in the Maine Outdoors. Trees wear a frosting of white and the sky is bluer than at any other time of year. Animal tracks are easily found in the snow and interpreting the story of their lives is great fun.
We will travel on foot through wildlife rich areas of the Midcoast where the scenery is always beautiful. If the snow is deep Maine Outdoors will provide snowshoes for you and your party and explain how to shuffle along on them.
You do not need to know anything about snowshoeing or the critters you might see. A friendly knowledgeable guide will add interest and fun to your trip, while helping you have a safe and enjoyable learning experience. Maine Outdoors trips are for your party only and provide an opportunity for you to work directly with a guide. Trips leave Union in the early afternoon and return three hours later with a new understanding of and appreciation for the natural world.

What do you need to bring? Maine Outdoors will supply all of the equipment that you will need. We always recommend that you bring along a warm coat, hat, gloves and dress in layers so you can adjust your clothing to your level of activity.
